Day Six: Best Era #fallvinylhealing w/ @therapyinvinyl
I was going to post Rage Against the Machine, then I was going to post the Singles soundtrack, and neither felt right, despite dancing within the same decade.
The Smashing Pumpkins are special because they’re not quite grunge in this period and not exactly metal but is starting to capture that “alternative” crowd, which really just kinda feels like a group of misfit toys, especially in the seeming current definition.
However, late 80s-mid 90s is still kind of my thing. The Seattle scene didn’t feel quite regionally congruent with my frame of reference from that era, nor did SoCal as a nod to RATM (which, when you think of it that way, makes Rage seem strangely a Southern California band, with exception of Tom Morello and for a minute, Brad Wilk, who would’ve had their starts geographically close to the Smashing Pumpkins…)
Yo, it’s Friday. Hallelujer.
