Hi, Day 2. Here’s Exhibit A on how I fell in love with music. There are others but I had to choose one.

Bruce Hornsby is grossly underrated. I always related to him as a keyboardist and likewise, his lyrics were nostalgic before it was cool to reminisce on the good ole days. He was so cool that Tupac sampled him and both “The Way It Is” and “Changes” have important social justice commentary, with a little over a decade in between.

Many song themes include lost youth, water, and mystery girls with pretty smiles. I’ve been told he’s got a lot of that cheese folks gag over, but I respectfully disagree. If he is indeed cheesy, consider my music diet to be strictly keto moving forward. Or low carb? Idk. Whatever diet allows you to eat as much cheese as you want. I’m doing that outside of my musical interests as well. Not to mention, this album just sounds like fall to me. I think it lyrically aligns with reflection and looking back to go forward. It also has that musty-ness to it; holla for the bargain bin find on this one…maybe $5 and plays incredibly well.
As an additional note, you kids sure are cool. @therapyinvinyl and I were really blown away yesterday by everyone’s posts and I truly look forward to what the next month is going to bring from everyone. 🖤🍁
