Day 15: #fallvinylhealing Music to Keep You Grounded

Almost halfway through #fallvinylhealing with @therapyinvinyl on Day 15, and were curious about what grounds you.

Grounding brings you into the present moment. To feel grounded, you have an orientation to time and space around you. In times of stress, the purpose is to neutralize or bring back to equilibrium. As mindfulness, a focus on grounding often is my tipping point to feel more positive emotions.

To piggy back off my last (The) Smashing Pumpkins post, my goal this year was a focus on fundamentals musically in my life. So here I am, posting these Portland assholes again with This is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About. For me, there’s not much more basic in my life than their albums, despite how tedious album titles they may create. They aren’t going to be my choice in the grand finale of #fallvinylhealing but when I project ahead there, they could easily be a front runner to sum everything up for me. As opposed to a final destination, however, often times Modest Mouse has an effect that brings me to homeostasis. Plus, I love long drives/rides as someone with nothing to think about. I thought leading with that was too literal though.

Hope there are others who enjoy this one as much as I do. 🖤
