Day 14: #fallvinylhealing A Record That’s Helped With Growth

I made it in on day 14 of #fallvinylhealing just in the nick of time before midnight CST, so it still counts. I was too busy hauling in big pumpkins at the p-patch from the back 40 and shot gunning beers to listen to too many records today. But that’s a story for another time.

One of the albums that’s seen me thru the most growth is Dope Lemon’s Honey Bones. From the time it released up to now, I’m convinced I’ve seen the most personal, professional, and emotional movement and perseverance I might see in my lifetime. We never stop growing, but so much happened within that short cross section of time, I think I’ve experienced the most painful growing pains with the most gain.

The cool and mellowness emanating from this thing balanced out any fear of uncertainty I may have had then. This gave me headspace to focus on a career and becoming a parent, which single-handedly are two of the most important things to me.
